What Does a Great Finance Director do?
Manage a team in a matrix environment, focused on structuring complex, enterprise-wide solutions. Provide overall direction to the team, including product selection, pricing structure and contract terms for new logo, intra-Fiserv transfers and renewal opportunities. Obtain approvals from division leaders and manage resources to meet deadlines for delivery of pricing proposals.
Core Duties :
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages, using data and commentary to ‘tell the story’ of financial performance.
Responsible for Technology (AppDev, FTS, Cyber) and Operations for each of the business segments Financial Services and Merchant.
Manage a team based in the UK, Germany as well as indirect reports in business units across the region like in Poland, Ireland and accounting teams offshore in India and Poland.
Lead the monthly close and forecast processes for the team.
Understand the Risk and Opportunities for the different functions under Technology and Operations- being able to call out good/bad news out as early as possible.
Co-ordinate with business leads and relating finance leads to help deliver the EMEA results.
Build and maintain dashboards of critical metric trends.
Facilitate the creation of annual and multi-year strategic plans for the division.
Own the budgeting and forecasting of business unit capital expenditures.
Maintain strong partnerships with Corporate FP&A and other division finance teams.
Being able to switch from the regional prior year reported numbers and what is needed for corporate for the actual rate numbers.
Manage any Regional vs. Global conflict.
Being able to support Technology hubs and allocations to all benefiting business units.
Support the Slovakia business to ensure profitability
Review balance sheet, projects in progress for capitalised development expenses and new client on boarding expenses.
Perform ad hoc analyses and assist team leadership with complex tasks and projects.
Monitor and establish internal controls to assure proper compliance.
Experience in Accounting and Finance
Worked in a matrix environment
Experience with Technology and Operations areas
Must possess excellent written, oral, and follow-up skills
Possess a positive attitude while working under pressure
Independent problem solver
Being able to take on tasks at short notice
Degree, Masters, MBA, Finance Qualification
