Job Function:

  • Understand legal and operational requirements with regards to information governance, records production, records retention and management of records and information on all media types to analyze for proper retention, management, transfer and disposition of Corporate Records

  • Coordinate activities with the Domestic Records Retention Team, working to standardize processes and programs for records lifecycle

  • Manage and oversee requests for the retention, retrieval, and disposition of records for international locations

  • Perform regular audits, reviews and recommendations to Implement strategies to be developed to enhance records management collaboration with the various business units to maintain compliance with retention policies and procedures processes

  • Oversee retention activities and destruction schedules; ensure the appropriate and timely disposition of records eligible for destruction; assist with RIM related activities, such as clean up events.

  • Serve as information contact for policies and procedures inquiries for international department record liaisons

  • Oversee roll out of records management software program to manage Records Retention International program

  • Maintain current knowledge and awareness of RIM industry trends, best practices, improved methods and technologies related to records and information management; conduct ongoing benchmarking of company RIM program requirements.

  • Collaborate with and assist all business units, functions and roles within the company to establish and maintain the RIM policies and compliance requirements, RIM business processes best practices, including audit, review, assessment and updates to unit specific file plans and records retention schedules

  • Serve as liaison with the Company’s physical records storage vendors in international locations

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, engineering, software engineering, Computer Science or similar field is preferred; 8-10 years extensive records management and/or data management and governance experience may be substituted for this educational requirement

  • Certification in Records Management, i.e.,

  • Certified Records Manager (CRM)

  • Certified Information Processional (CIP)

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

  • Information Governance Professional (IGP)

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)

  • Certified Records Analyst (CRA)

  • Experience in implementing effective information and records management programs, policies and procedures

  • Experience with knowledge of records retention laws, managing electronic records, disposition procedures and working knowledge of content management systems

  • Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional relationships with all key departments

  • Experience with document digitization initiatives

  • Ability to work independently and effectively partner with departments to audit, review and amend existing and / or implement new information and records management policies and procedures

  • Experience in leading projects and managing budgets

  • Competency with Microsoft applications

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail to verify information and ensure accurate storage and retrieval of records, including cost analysis

  • Effectiveness in coordinating and prioritizing tasks

  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals and customers

  • Ability to perform records and information management tasks independently and as a team, and to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems
