Position Description

RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER

Fiserv is seeking a Research Project Manager to help join its dynamic group of seasoned marketing and communication professionals in their Global Brand team. As the Research Project Manager, you will be part of our client satisfaction research team. You will be highly skilled in project management; tracking requests and organizing multiple ongoing research projects, while balancing requests from key stakeholders to ensure successful projects.

The work of this role will have high visibility to senior leaders from across the enterprise, so it must be dependable, timely, and accurate.

In this role, you will work closely with SMEs in research, operations, technology, product management, strategy, and senior leadership. You’ll produce monthly reports, as well as ad hoc reports, and drive people and programs to stay on track.

You will need a solid knowledge of introductory statistics, with the ability to run, check, and use simple statistical summaries. Analysis and review of the results will be required to identify and highlight the most salient findings; therefore, attention to detail and quality is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project manage large internal research requests while providing continual progress to related stakeholders and driving projects to completion

  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to deliver results that meet complex research objectives

  • Identify and recommends changes in procedures, processes, and results

  • Research sample management and QA

  • Monthly report production, QA, editing

  • Develop and support executive analysis by telling the “story” in research projects by crafting compelling summaries that utilize data and visuals

  • Find needed information in enterprise databases (e.g., Salesforce), research reports, and other sources

  • Review and analyze vendor and team analytics to ensure accuracy and logical consistency

  • Partner with colleagues to analyze and communicate insights from ad-hoc and monthly tracking research

SKILLS / ABILITIES NEEDED:

  • Demonstrated research project management experience (including keeping projects on track, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, organizing the efforts of a team of SME contributors

  • Proficiency with prioritizing and completing multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity

  • Extreme organization, detail orientation, and an analytical mind-set

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while meeting multiple project timelines and client needs

  • Interest and experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Ability to collaborate closely with other functions, including consumer analytics, product marketing, global market strategy, and operations, and to keep advancing the work even when dependent on the contributions of others

  • The position does not have direct reports, but influence and mentoring skills are crucial

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment

  • Vendor management skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • B.S. degree in an analytic or organizational discipline

  • A minimum of 5 years in a Market Research project or program management role

  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Expert-level skills required: process management, organizational / organizing skills, PowerPoint, Word, Excel (particularly competence with pivot tables, filtering, conditional formatting, charting, and text manipulation), working with others

  • Additional skills in the following are important to success in the role:

  • Intermediate skills with SharePoint (organize and administer a SharePoint team site)

  • Basic knowledge of SPSS (ability to aggregate, tabulate, chart, format, and summarize data)

  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge in project management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Master’s degree in an analytic or organizational discipline

  • Business to business research and/or financial services research, where every client and every result matters

  • SQL (ability to write or edit basic relational queries with multiple joins)

  • Power BI (use reports produced by others)

  • Other statistical tools: R, JMP, Python
