Why is the VP of Credit Processing Product Management a critical role?

As the VP of Credit Product Management, you will ensure that Fiserv delivers competitive solutions to financial institutions, maximizes resources, and contributes in a predictable manner to the business results and strategic plan of the organization.

You will be responsible for all lifecycle management and product P&L within and across the Issuer Solutions division. This includes the utilization of market research, the evaluation of technology trends, and the translation of product strategy into a roadmap. You are a key leader who will evolve the team to more fully support our client’s needs and be a liaison with Development and Account Management groups to resolve technical issues impacting clients. In addition, you will effectively execute against key business success metrics including financial targets, client experience metrics, and engagement of our associates and clients.

In addition to the product management role, you will serve a critical part in re-engineering and modernizing the credit processing business over the next 1-3 years (and beyond). Specifically, this individual will be responsible for driving down our expense base through the re-engineering efforts in close partnership with our technology teams, and in parallel driving net new revenue by commercializing new value-added solutions and services off those efforts. The result of these efforts will support the re-positioning Fiserv’s credit processing in the North American market against our competition – especially emerging fintech issuers, large banks and new potential credit issuers. Examples of those efforts will include leading the modernization of our credit platform (with a target reduction in 1-2 years of multiple millions), upgrading new products and applications, client-outsourced operations (disputes / call center) and client-operated applications, reducing organization size versus efficiency gain and talent assessment.

Given that many of our large issuing clients are tightly integrated and dependent on Fiserv for their card processing and operations, these efforts will have a significant impact on the operational expense of both Fiserv and our clients’ bottom line – requiring direct engagement and partnership with our top 10 clients.

Essential Job Responsibilities

This position is a strategic member of the Issuer Solutions leadership team, and will partner closely with the Issuer Solutions organization:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and tactical credit strategy while developing product roadmaps, business plans and portfolio strategies for our clients

  • Lead a product management team to deliver against the business plan executing on the defined credit strategy and developing highly collaborative partnerships with internal groups in our division and across the enterprise

  • Build product and business requirements based on market analysis, business strategy and client needs, in the aligned marketplace

  • Drive performance against key P&L levers influencing sales across the business

  • Seek business opportunities and develop business plans to include the product strategy, as well as the financial and transaction-based forecasts

  • Participate in sales activities and be a key influencer in building a marketing and sales strategy in conjunction with our marketing and sales teams

  • Work closely with sales, development and professional services to ensure requirements are interpreted correctly in detailed design specifications and in the construction of the product assigned. Develop launch plans, define marketing requirements and ensure key product collateral exists (i.e. product guides, sales presentations, demo scripts, flash demos, feature comparisons) to effectively support sales initiatives. Partner closely with the implementation teams to ensure contracted solutions are implemented with quality in a timely fashion for time to revenue acceleration.

  • Perform as a key leader of furthering Fiserv’s Payments strategy by hiring, developing and retaining talent, as well as influencing organizational structure and expanding the overall knowledge across the enterprise

  • Validate and prioritize requirements including defining benefits and impacts of releases across the organization and clients

  • Achieve subscriber, transactions, quality, revenue and profitability goals

  • Lead partnerships with key organizational stakeholders, including executive leadership, sales, marketing, operations, finance, legal, and others to ensure aligned portfolio and business success

  • Provide market feedback to the Issuer Solutions Leadership team regarding competitive offerings, prospect/client needs and generate product solutions to meet those needs

  • Define and execute strategies that will enable scaled adoption of products across key customers

  • Design and develop improvement opportunities to gain efficiencies of project methodologies, deliverables, reporting and training to mature capabilities in service and delivery

  • Prepare and communicate strategies while maintaining effective, on-going relationships with Client Executives

  • Lead the planning and execution of go to market activities for target markets and deliver results through collaboration with partners such as Product Management and Operations

  • Generate market revenue growth by broadening distribution of existing products and solutions, as well as through the creation of new market solutions

  • Actively lead the development of strategies and programs for large, strategically important regional and global clients

  • Collaborate with Finance to establish a monthly review model inclusive of volume and revenue measurement and reporting.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field required.

Job-Related Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in Credit and Product Management with most of the experience in leadership roles

  • 10+ years of experience in the Payments Industry

  • Shown success in effectively managing products through key stages of the lifecycle

  • Strong working knowledge of business financial practices, accounting and business case development, and proven ability to run a P&L

  • Experience in creating release roadmaps that support product strategies

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build consensus

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to interact at all levels of the clients from C-level to technical and operation levels

Preferred Skills, Experience, And Education

  • Pragmatic Marketing certification strongly preferred

  • Possess an entrepreneurial attitude

Travel Required

Approximately 30-40% travel throughout the year to various Fiserv offices and client locations
